Mini-beast Safari

Using your school grounds, we take a journey of exploration into the undergrowth and discover the hidden world of the mini-beast. We will bring along various items of equipment students can use on their min-beast safari.

Students will be able to use a variety of ID Charts to identify specimens they have caught/observed.

We are able to offer the following activities:

Grassland Mini-beasts

Woodland Mini-beasts

Pond Dipping

We also will provide worksheets to complement the modules that the students will be taking part in.

Costs: We charge £60.00 for a half day which is for a maximum of two sessions. We charge £100.00 for a full day ( three - four sessions) at the school/group. Charges quoted are for for sessions within a 20 mile radius of Hatton/Shustoke. Schools/Groups outside this radius may be charged slightly more to cover transport costs

Sessions can be mixed, eg. One of Mini-beasts in the classroom and one of Mini-beast Safari or Rocks and Fossils

We are flexible and will work with the school or group to get the most out of the day.

Our sessions can be tailored to the ages and capabilities of the students. The optimum group size is 1 class or 25 people per session. Each session will last approx. 1 hour.

Mini-beasts in the Classroom

Our mini-beast sessions in the classroom are a great hit with both young and old alike. Following an introductory talk about Bugs and Mini-beasts your class/group will have an opportunity to handle some of the mini-beasts.

All activities will conclude with a questions and answers session.
